1. Addend: the numbers added in an addition problem. (in 7+4+8, the numbers 7, 4 and 8 are called this)
2. Average: add the sum of a group of numbers then divide the total by the number of addends used.
3. Coordinates: an ordered pair of numbers that locates a point with reference to the x- and y-axes.
4. Decimal: a number with one or more digits to the right of a decimal point.
5. Denominator: the number below the bar in a fraction.
6. Difference: the result of subtraction.
7. Dividend: the number that is divided in a division problem.
8. Divisor: the number by which a number is being divided.
9. Equation: a mathematical sentence with an equal sign.
10. Estimate: a number close to the exact amount.
11. Factor: one of two or more numbers that are multiplied to give a product.
12. Fraction: a number that names a part of whole.
13. Integers: the set of positive whole numbers, their opposites (negative numbers) and 0.
14. Mean: also called average, the number found by dividing the sum of a group of numbers by the number of addends.
15. Median: the middle number when a set of number is arranged in order from least to greatest.
16. Mixed numbers: a number that is the sum of a whole number and a fraction.
17. Mode: the number or numbers that occur most often in a set of data (or set of numbers).
18. Numerator: the number above the bar in a fraction.
19. Prime Number: a whole number, greater than 1, that has exactly two factors.
20. Probability: the chance of an event occurring.
21. Product: the answer in a multiplication problem.
22. Quotient: the answer in a division problem.
